TABU: I LOVE BEING SIMPLE !

Have you decided to come back to films once again?

I’ve not described any agenda about what kind of cinema will I do or not. Who has said that I’m just doing ordinary films or art level films. I just want to work in those films which script suits me best. This work is a fun for me and also a serious task. An actor is always a character whether he or she does glamorous roles or non-glamoruos.

Do you feel any personal series image before signing a film?

I do understand what people wants for me but I don’t want anyone to talk on my behalf. People can image me the way they can after seeing my work. I have the simple formula since yet for choosing a movie. The role suits me I choose it or which I don’t like so I dislike it.

Why did you do film ‘Life of Pi’, becase your role is so short?

I’ve done many short roles before this. For me, shortness is nothing but the only thing that matters most is your character’s deepness. I liked Ang Lee ‘Life of Pi’ very much and it is also a beautiful movie. This film has the elements which haven’t been dealt before. Tiger and a hidden dragon, I just want to fulfill children’s wish.

Did you really want to this kind of film?

Absolutely, an actor must experience different roles. This role is new for me and has been written very superbly. Characters like this are the most favorable choice of every actor. I’m sure someone else would do the same as me like I did.

Ing says that he’s cast you after watching your films, did you suggest him some of your films?

I don’t really know that which movies of mine he has seen. How did he offer me for ‘Life Of Pi’. Though if ask me so I would suggest my Vijaypatt, Biwi no.1, Virarsat and Cheeni Kam. However, I like my all films but I assume these four films are the biggest success of my film career.

You’ve still been maintaining low profile after working on International cinema, why?

My question is “You’ve to work or you’ve to gain publicity’?If an artist performs his or her work very beautifully so why will he think about getting publicity. I’m not hurting anyone but I don’t have any craze about having self-publicity.  I’ve been making people like me just because of this work of mine. I see many people shout to make their publicity, then I think why wouldn’t I need of that, why am I so difficult from other? I like the way I am.

What is the reason behind on disappearing on silver screen for long?

If I’m offered a wonderful role so I must say ‘Labbaik’. The work I’ve already done before, doesn’t want to do again. I’ve not done comedy films that much so If I’m offered a comedy film so it will be a little change in my profile. Though, I’ll just do precious roles like ‘Cheeni Kam’.

What have you thought about direction and production?

Absolutely not, I’m in comfortable zone as an actress, though direction or production is a headache towards  me. I salute to all the directors and producers who make their films and promotes it country by country. As an actor you’ve many advantages so I love being an actor.

You’ve won the ‘National Award’ twice, still you are so far in the competition?

Today, Kareena, Priyanka, Vidya and Katrina rule the box office. I didn’t persuade for this kind of competition in my period. I kept my work on in South films after being so much busy in Mumbai. I also did some Telugu films because I belong form Hyderabad and Telugu is the most speaking language her.

It is said that you’ve shifted to Hyderabad?

I hate this question now. Whenver I go to a party in Mumbai so everyone asks me ‘Have you come from Hyderabad today?’ and you will get back to Hyderabad after party. The face is I’ve been living in a big hosue from my childhood, my grandmother house was very big. That’s why I didn’t like the flats of Mumbai. I made a bangalow in Hyderabad. I could’ve also made a bangalow in Mumbai but here real estate’s price are too high.  But I gave that flat to my friend and came to Mumbai to live in a flat.

So you’ve left the Hyderabad?

I’ve not left it though I mostly live in Mumbai because of work. Though, I also have a lot of work in Hyderabad. All the Telugu films are made there and my many relatives live there. I also spent many days there because I’ve to attend my friend’s wedding. That is my birthplace that’s why I go there. Though, the bangalow for which I want to live more, is not there anymore and I’ve it for rent.

Do you still have friendship with Nagar Juna?

I know why is this question have been raised. He and I was at Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday together. But photographers must have felt sad because Nagar was with his wife and I was apart. Me, Nagar and his wife are good friends. I know she loves him very much. They both respect me a lot.

You’ve been grown to 41-year-old, What did you think about wedding?

My mother’s marriage didn’t succeed. Farah and Vindu’s marriage also not succeed so I’ve been become so careful. Though, I’m much more sesitive than my mother and sister so I don’t want to hurt my heart ever. Time has passed If I will have a wedding in my destiny so I’ll marry otherwise I’ll stay single.

Have you left celebrating birthday after fourty?

I’ve never been interested in celebrating my birthday but what do I do about my fans? I receive many good wishes messages and calls on my birthday. I think this love is bigger than the Oscar for me.

Rani, SriDevi, Karishma  and Priety have made a comeback, do you also feel to make a comeback in film industry?

I’ve been working with small breaks. I’ve made many come backs like this. Though, I liked SriDevi’s ‘English Vinglish’. Gauri Shinde is a wonderful director. I’ve worked with many females directors and I admit that female directors are more powerful than men directors. Film of SriDevi I will want to work in.
