ILEANA D'CRUZ LEARNS THE WAY OF ACTING!

If Ileana D'Cruz of Mumbai has done over 50 South films but she was chosen for the fresh face of Bollywood in Anurag Basu's blockbuster film "Barfi". Ileana got a chance to work with stars like Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in her first film and Ileana proved herself worthy in Bollywood. Let's ask Ileana why's she so impressed with Ranbir Kapoor and how managed to perform this role of her in her Bollywood debut film "Barfi" :

FIRST FILM

'Devadas' was my first film which was in Telugu language in 2006. I realized acting as a very hard profession and a difficult task to do. I sometime used to cried but my mother gave me hope. Her praying and my hard working taught me the secret of acting and I won "Best Young Actress" award in Film Fair award for my first film.

STEPPING IN TO BOLLYWOOD

'Barfi' is my first film in Bollywood and I debuted my Bollywood career from this film. I received many Hindi film offers but I refused to do those for some reasons. But film Barfi's script and my strong role couldn't let me deny this offer to Anurag Basu. Though, Ranbir Kapoor is also a reason for me to do this film, because I always wanted to work with him.

DIFFERENCE IN BOTH INDUSTRIES

I've been working in South Indian film industry for a long time whereas Bollywood industry is new industry for me. So it will be hard to say which industry is best right now. After spending some time I'll be able to tell which industry is best.

LESSON

I used to think that people in Bollywood are so weird and cheap thinking who don't give any importance to South Indian actors before I got in the Bollywood industry. But when I did film 'Barfi', my thinking changed. I learnt many things during working in 'Barfi'. Way of work is different in both the industries. Though, it was a challenge for me to perform but I performed it very well.

FAVORITE ACTOR

My favorite star is Ranbir Kapoor who performs his role very well. Ranbir Kapoor was the real reason I did this film. I always wanted to work with him. He was absolutely wonderful in his film 'Rockstar'.

UPCOMING PROJECTS

Though, I debuted my acting career from South Indian film industry and I became famous from here so i can't just bid farewell to South Indian industry because of Bollywood. I want to work in both industries. My next film is "Patha Poster Nikla Hero' with Shahid Kapoor. Raj Kumar Santoshi is the producer.
