When Chitrangada was offered to work in the commercial of a cream who whitens the skins so she became so yellowish and red. Chitrangada said against it, "I refused their offer. I love my color. I'm light brown and i'm a Hindustani and likes the way i am. Everyone should be proud on what they've got and don't try to get what you can't have." With this interview Chitrangada Singh got involved in the list of Aishwaria Rai and Frieda Pinto because she refused to work in the commercial of fairness product. When it was told to her make-up man so he laughed and said. "After spending a huge time with her i don't agree with that because my experience is something else. I don't feel regret for leaving the job. You can make someone white with the help of make-up but you can't make a light brown skin fully white. I was capable of her film's promotion make-up and other occasion make-up, that's why her white beauty was so hard to tolerate. She doesn't get happy after having four shades.
