DREAM COME TRUE: RICHA CHADDA

Getting in to Bollywood industry wasn't a new thing for Delhi girl Richa Chadda because she always wanted to be an actress. This beautiful and bold actress Richa Chadda proved herself worthy accepting challenging roles from the start. She proved she has a place in Bollywood industry. She debuted her film career from film "Oye Lucky Lucky Oye". Let's talk about how she managed to perform the role of "nagma woman" role in her new movie "Gangs of Wassipur":

FIRST FILM
Getting my first film was very odd for me. Anurag Kashyap auditioned me for "Dev D" when I came to Mumbai and I was selected but after few days I was told that another foreign girl has been chosen besides for that role. Then after two days of it I got Dibakar Banerjee's "Oye Lucky Lucky Oye". I then met Anurag Kashyap during my film premiere and he apologized me for not casting me for that role and told me that he needed a foreign face for Dev D but we'll work together soon. I had a thinking in my mind that "If she marries to Kalki Koechlin so what is the matter now. Richa laughed and told, "I was wrong because Anurag really cast me in his film "Gangs of Wassipur" for the role of "Nagma".

STEPPING IN SHOWBIZ
I'm a pure Delhi girl and my father is a management professional whereas my mother is a professor. I'm the only daughter of four brothers so it's obvious I'm so bold. I performed my first bar dance when i was six because of which my mom was angry at me but after seeing my potential she permitted me to learn Khatak, I decided to become an actress that time. I started theather and modelling in the age of 16 and I learnt Street Jazz and Ballet. My acting fond was also getting up with my age and i also lied many times just for coming to Mumbai. I said I can't get an audition in Delhi so it's necessary for me to go to Mumbai for the audition. So this is how I came to Mumbai and I took admission in Mumbai's Sofia college media short course. I gave different auditions and succeeded to get my first film.

FACING HARD TIME
I know doing a role of nagma in Anurag Kashyap's film "Gangs of Wassipur" was hard to perform. Film's story is based on three ages and it's filled with fighting and drama though some romantic scenes are also in the movie. I'm the wife of Manoj Bajpai in the film who abuses and fights a lot. It wasn't easy for me to perform when bunch of people are around you.. Anurag Kashyap rehearsed me for an hour or two to abuse correctly then I was able to perform this.

LESSON
I was so nervous before i worked with Manoj Bajpai in "Gangs of Wassipur" but he gave me strength and make me realize that it wasn't the first time we were working together.

UPCOMING PROJECTS
My upcoming film is "Tamanche" and I've Nikhil Dwivedi with me in it. Beside it, I'm also doing a role in Meera Nayar's short film. I'm also being offered for side roles in big projects but I don't want to do that. I will be seen doing an item number song and I believe no one can dance better than me when I'll.
