DESTINY'S FAVOURITE CHILD....

YOUR ALBUM HAS BEEN RELEASED INTERNATIONALLY, HOW ARE YOU FEELING NOW?

It's obvious I'm so happy! It's the privilege of my two years destination. I'll call it my hardest event of my life! This is my first line to my music career. When all this started I didn't know anything about singing, now I can proudly say that I can also make my country name proud worldwide by singing!

HOW DID YOU THINK ABOUT MUSIC?

I was shooting in Corg for "Saath Khoon Maaf", I remember that was a beautiful evening and I was listening to song of "Saath Khoon Maaf" "Darling Ankhon Se", during that time my business manager Natasha Paul take out my headphone from my ears and said some people from music company want to meet me. I was shocked on what she was saying I didn't have any clue about that. She told me that I must meet those people. Anyway, when I met them so I knew they belong to Universal Music Group and they wish to release an album with me! I was shocked to know how did they know about my singing, then I knew that our composer Saleem Merchant told them about my singing. Then chairman of InnterScope Jimmy Leone showed who has won Grammy Awards two times, That's how I came in music line.

DO YOU FEEL THAT EVERYTHING IS OKAY TO YOU KNOW?

Vocal coach helped me a lot, Sam was with me everywhere I used to shoot in the past couple of years. She used to teach me vocals of music after pack-up so I don't lose any lesson. She was very aware on my notes and range! I didn't think of singing a song on this level, all credit goes to Sam!

HOW DID YOU ENJOY BOTH HAPPINESS TOGETHER 'BARFI' AND 'MUSIC ALBUM'?

I think everything is luck when your luck grants on you so everything starts to happen. I thought about becoming an actor I became! I didn't think about becoming a singer but I received this owner to sing on international level! I worked hard for 'Barfi' and I also worked very hard for my music album. Now, I've got the reward of my hard working!

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE FOR YOU AS A SINGER? 

The album I got was international and I didn't want to make anyone disappoint because of me. When I fully believed myself that I can sing now then I sang! Vocal coach Sam is helping me out these days, I don't know when will she be with me because I'm not a complete singer without her.

WHO IS YOUR SINGING IDEAL?

My father is my singing ideal. Few people knows that my father is a singer. I have grown up listening to both Western and Eastern music. My father liked Mohammad Rafi so Mohammad Rafi's voice used to surround in our home whereas my mother like Beatles so she used to listen Beatles! I've these music with me from my very childhood and now I'm talking work with them. You'll get a chance to listen my whole album next year obviously, this is my biography originally. In some songs, I've sing poetry with poets and these songs are based from soft to club tracks.

DESCRIBE YOUR JOURNEY FROM MISS WORLD TO SINGER IN YOUR WORDS?

I'll associate my whole journey in some words, I've got more than I worked hard. Luck has been so grateful on me. When my first solo no. was launching so I was looking at everybody's impressions. I didn't think of it. Result is so good. 1.30 minutes video of mine was released on national football which so owner for me and for that country too!

WILL YOU PROMOTE YOUR ALBUM BY THE HELP OF INTERNATIONAL CONCERTS?

I'm so nervous  about this I can't say anything right now. I like to perform on stage in front of everyone. I've danced on other singer's song but this will be my first time that I'll dance on my own song. I don't know that I concentrate on my song or my performance.

WHAT DID YOUR PARENTS SAY ABOUT YOUR ALBUM?

My parents are emotional, first they cried a lot then they congratulated me for my album. They also prayed for me. My father wish was If he didn't become a singer so I will become an international singer one day. He's extremely happy today!

WILL WE HEAR YOU IN FILM'S PLAYBACK SINGER?

I can't say anything about it. Saleem Suleman and Vishal Shekar have assumed me for becoming a singer. I think they can make me a playback singer only.

IF YOU BECOME A PLAYBACK SINGER, WHICH ACTRESS WILL YOU SING A SONG FOR? 

My first choice will be Rekha jee. The way she has picturized "Umrao Jaa" ghazals, that style couldn't be forget till the end of the world. I will want to sing those kinds of ghazals for her.

YOU'VE NOT BEEN IN YOUR HOME TOWN FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS?

I prefer those places which my heart likes. I've been in Bareli, Anbala, Los Angeles, New York and many places so that's why I don't see what the place is. I just consider my work. I'm in contact with my family because of new technologies like laptops, cell phones and internet.

YOU'VE BEEN TO MANY CITIES SO WHICH CITY WILL YOU GIVE 'IN MY CITY' NAME?

My song is for every city I've been to and every human who is my fan. I dedicate my song to all of them and all cities I've been.

PEOPLE WHO HEARD YOUR SONG SAID THAT YOUR SONG IS SO LIKE LADY GAGA, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ABOUT THIS? 

I'm so thankful to my team. Lady Gaga is a great singer. I'm on the stage first time and If my style of singing is same like Lady Gaga so what can I say about it now. She has a high vocal range and she's known to be top singer on stage. I'm so happy to be like her.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ABOUT YOUR ROLE IN 'BARFI' ?

I've always taken risk in my life. I became a vamp in 'Aitraaz', film 'Fashion' has many ups and downs! In 'Saath Khoon Maaf' I had a negative shade too. But now 'Barfi' is completely non-glamorous! Though I've taken risk here too.

WHO WOULD YOU PREFER 'SINGER' OR 'ACTOR'?

Entertainment is important for me so I would consider on that! Rather It would be from acting or singing. I'll entertain my fans by both ways.

HOW DO YOU TAKE COMPETITION? 

I don't see my partners but I only see myself and compete. I try myself to do my best.
