HUMA QURESHI: FRESH FACE OF BOLLYWOOD

Huma Qureshi is a successful director and artist of theater. She dreamt to be an actress from childhood. Lets take you to know how did she become successful actress:

FIRST FILM

I think that become the part of Anurag Kashyap’s movie “Gangs of Wasipur”. I can’t tell that my first movie is successful or good. “Gangs of Wasipur” is an action movie which is based on three human civilization. Though some romantic scenes are also in it. I have done the character of a girl who’s fond of watching movies and she’s so crazy about becoming an actress.

HOW GOT THIS FILM?

I was shooting a commercial with Anurag Kashyap then he decided to cast me in her movie. I felt so much happy because without him I couldn’t make it enter in film industry. I always dreamt of becoming an actress but it seemed so hard. “Gangs of Wasipur’s” cast was to chosen by casting director Mukesh Chabra. Three hundred girls were interviewed for the audition and I was the only one who was nominated for this role. According to Anurag, my commercial with him was my audition.

ENTRY IN SHOWBIZ

I’m a grown-up girl. My mom belongs from Kashmir and my father belongs from Dehli. I completed my education in Dehli and from here I dreamt of becoming an actress. I did many theaters. I wrote many script and role plays in my school and also in colleges. I wrote a play “Under Rapes” and I also acted in it. This play won all the awards in college. That play was also nominated for “College Theater Festival”.

FIRST SHOT

I can’t forget my first shot. It was film’s second scene in which Faisal Khan gets off from the train and I welcome him. It was a sunset shot which was shot very well. Whenever, I think about it I feel very proud and happy. That time Anurag wasn’t  there so I was nervous but when we started to take shoot Anurag went there then I took a long breathe.

HARD TIME

There was a scene in film which I was feeling nervous to shot. It was an emotional scene in which I meet Faisal Khan. I start to sing a song during the scene and hug him. There were loads of emotional scene during that three minutes scene. At last, shot was okay and Anurag gave me a hug. He said that I’ve done great work and I’ve started my career now.

WHAT LESSON DID YOU LEARN?

“Gangs of War” has many perfectionist actors in it. You can learn many things among these stars. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj WAjpae and Reema Sain. They didn’t let me feel that I’m fresh among them but they gave me hope.

IDEAL ACTOR

Any person who is self-made and he’s started his destination from very deep, is  my ideal. Film’s industry people say that I’m so impressed from my father.

UPCOMING PROJECT

I’m working in three more films. In which one is director Sameer Sharma’s “Love Shut Te Chicken Karana Hai”. In this film, my role is a Punjabi girl. Second one is “Ek Thi Dain” which producer is Vishal Bhardwaj. Whereas, I’m doing an action film with Nakal Advani.
