RAVEENA TONDON SAID NO TO OLIVER STONE

It's been ten years and after ten years Raveena Tondon confessed that she has denied a strong supporting role of the Indian wife of Alexander in Oliver Stone's Alexander (2004). Raveena who  won the NAtional Award for Daman (2001) and also having film RAkyesh Omprakash Mehra's Aks (2001). Oliver was staying in the hotel with Mehra and a friend where she also went Hotel Maratha.
                                Actually first Raveena  sent the internationally acclaimed director a reel copy of Raveena's show for which in turn, Oliver sent her Alexander's script. Raveena says, "For westerners, in the past, India was the land of Kamasutra and erotica, and there were some sexual scenes which I didn't want to do." Raveena added, "I told them my concern. They were okay about using a body double, but the scenes which i had to do were smooching. So, I refused the offer."
                                 When Mehra heard that he was all shocked and told her she is refusing Stone, who came specially to meet Raveena. But Raveena didn't change her mind. Raveena describes, "I haven't kissed even once in my Hindi movies and they are telling me to do ..... How could I do it for an international film? If my father knew he would thrown me out." For those of who don't know Raveena is still in contact with Oliver. "We email each other. He's one of my favourite directors. Today when actors make so much noise about doing two or three scenes in a Hollywood movie, I'm so pleased."
