Shahid Kapoor, who is going to be in next Kabir Singh's movie, has left behind his image of being a chololate-boy, Udta Punjab, Jab We Met, Haider and Padmaavat have turned him quite mature.
When star started his acting career in 2003 by film Ishq Vishk, only few people remembered him in pop band Aryans's music video "Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra" as the Complan TVC kid or the love-struck boy in the film. Shahid was noted by the entire nation when film made an average success on the Indian Box Office.

After film Ishq Vishk, Shahid Kapoor did his best in dancing prowess in some of his hits films and several flops. Although, he debuted Bollywood to be actor but he proved himself in Bollywood by dancing-actor. Star-kid avatar didn't help him but he managed his own way. He has done quite impressive dancing moves in films like 36 China Town, Dil Maange More and Fool & Final. He knew that it was not enough to be in the eyes of audience throughout the world. Film 'Jab We Met in 2007' directed by Imtiaz Ali brought Shahid the first milestone for his film career. By casting the role of a troubled businessman who is discovering his-self was the blinking acting bravery for him in film 'Jab We Met'. Vishal Bharadwaj helped Shahid Kapoor to boost his acting prowess with film 'Kaminey', where he played a double role of brothers in the film. Shahid achieved severals nominations at Award Shows for the role. Bollywood is the film industry of competition and not everyone can achieve success in Bollywood. Shahid's image was again but the same old dancing hero in films like Chance Pe Dance, Kismat Konnection, Phata Poster Nikla Hero and R... Rajkumar. Shahid Kapoor was being write off by the directors but Vishal Bharadwaj again made his way in film 'Haider' which was actually based on Shakespeare's Hamlet. Shahid was welcomed backed as an action hero.

In 2011, Shahid took a break from acting and started taking his life and career seriously. Shahid refused signing every film but the chosen one. Film 'Udta Punjab' made average success but Shahid did his best acting in the film. Last year in film 'Padmaavat', Shahid boosted his remarkable acting abilities again. In between director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's favourites actors Deepika Padokune and Ranveer Singh, it's not easy to make a place but Shahid Kapoor did it. From the role of Tommy Singh in 'Udta Punjab', he changed his position to great Maharawal Ratan Singh. He also tried to show a social issue on big screen in 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', which was flat at the box office.
Today, Shahid Kapoor is known all over the world as the avatar of action and dancing hero. His smile is so adorable to his fans and he's now a choosy actor.
